Who this is for: This class is for students who have completed the foundations of Integrated Chinese Vol 1 (Lessons 1-5/6) or an equivalent curriculum (see details in the pictures). You should already be comfortable discussing family, dates, times, hobbies, and visiting friends. This small, conversation-focused group class will reinforce your past knowledge while pushing you toward intermediate fluency. (Not sure if you are ready for this level? Class Size: 3 to 6 students. We cap classes at 6 students to ensure everyone gets plenty of speaking time. (Note: Classes require a minimum of 3 enrolled students to run. In the event a class does not form after you’ve paid for the full course, you will receive a full refund or a transfer to another time).

What you will learn:

• Review & Mastery (Lessons 1–6): Reinforce foundational topics (family, time, hobbies, visiting friends) until you can use them freely in conversation.

• Phone Calls & Appointments (Lesson 6): Learn phone etiquette and how to confidently schedule or change plans.

• Discussing Studies (Lesson 7): Talk about your language learning experience, study habits, and fluency.

• Daily Routines (Lesson 8): Build vocabulary to describe your typical day and tell longer, narrative stories.

• Grammar Expansion: Use directional words, time duration, and sequence markers (first, next, then) to speak more naturally. (See the image gallery above for the detailed week-by-week syllabus!)

Materials: We use Integrated Chinese Vol 1. For this level, we will do a quick reinforcement of earlier lessons and start new material from Lesson 6/Lesson 7. Digital learning materials are included with your registration. You can also purchase a new textbook and workbook set directly from us with a $20 discount after signing up for the course.
