Who this is for: This class is designed for students with zero prior experience in Mandarin. It is a small, conversation-focused group class where you will get frequent feedback and speaking practice.

Class Size: 3 to 6 students. We cap classes at 6 students to ensure everyone gets plenty of speaking time. (Note: Classes require a minimum of 3 enrolled students to run. In the rare event a class does not meet the minimum, you will receive a full refund or a transfer to another time).

What you will learn:

• Pinyin & Tones: Learn the Chinese phonetic system and the four tones to build a solid foundation for good pronunciation.

• Chinese Characters: An introduction to characters and Radicals (the secret to memorizing characters and learning how to type).

• Conversational Basics: Greetings, introducing yourself, identifying family members, and asking basic questions.

• Practical Vocabulary: Numbers, dates, and times.

Materials: We use Integrated Chinese Vol 1 (this level covers up to Lesson 3). Digital learning materials are included with your registration. You can also purchase a new textbook and workbook set directly from us with a $20 discount after signing up for the course.
